Partnering with us:

GENETIC VARIATION & BIOLOGICAL FUNCTION

Héctor Pourtalé
Executive Director

Why Movement Health is looking to collaborate with genetic variation and biological function companies in multiple countries.

At Movement Health, we recognise that partnerships and collaboration are crucial if we want to transform global healthcare systems. Moreover, these partnerships need to extend to all sectors of the economy, including:

  • Genetic variation and biological function.
  • Global banking and financial services.
  • Transport and logistics.
  • IT strategy consulting.
  • Health insurance.

All of these sectors and industries have moved with the times, introducing changes that have allowed them to stay competitive and relevant. By contrast, the healthcare sector has lagged behind and is struggling to cope with demand, which is only going to increase in the future. That’s why it’s so important for healthcare to tap into other industries and learn from their innovation, knowledge and efficiency.

Here’s why genetic variation and biological function companies are so central to our thinking.

How you could help us

Movement Health appreciates that genomics and sequencing are crucial factors in gaining a greater understanding of health and disease, leading to better lives and treatment. As an initiative focused on early treatment and prevention, we believe in building alliances between public and personalised healthcare, for which sequencing will grow in importance.

Working together, Movement Health can provide a societal framework for genetic variation and biological function companies to drive sequencing efforts and therefore improve healthcare outcomes. We see such companies playing a vital role in advancing research and clinical applications across countries in the near future.

How you will benefit

By joining with Movement Health, you can help shape the future of health systems and gain access to influential experts in the regions where our initiative operates. We’re currently working with providers in 17 countries and collaborating with more than 180 leading experts from institutions and organisations, such as the national Ministries of Health and Harvard.

We believe that a great opportunity lies in genetic variation and biological function companies establishing long-term infrastructure in these 17 countries. All of them need to have some understanding of the genomics of their populations, particularly in relation to rare diseases, pharmacogenomics and precision cancer treatment. As such, there are existing approaches to building reference genomes on the agenda.

Overall, capacity-building competencies in biology will be crucial in and outside of health in the coming decades, and we want to assist you in playing a leading role.

We want to hear from you

We are looking to partner with companies that demonstrate strong leadership and exceptional knowledge in the field of genetic variation and biological function—companies that want to challenge the status quo and are looking to develop innovative solutions around the world.

If this sounds like you, then please get in touch. Our Executive Director, Héctor Pourtalé, can tell you more about the process of becoming a partner of Movement Health.
