Tom leads the healthcare & life sciences (HLS) business globally for Microsoft, leading both strategy and execution for the industry overall and by segment: healthcare providers, payers, pharmaceutical, med tech and retail pharmacy. He works alongside product teams, partners, and customers to support the digital transformation occurring across HLS to enable solutions that provide better experiences, better insights, and better care.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Tom was the President & CEO of GE Healthcare’s $10 billion Imaging business. Prior to GE, Tom led two other healthcare businesses: VP & GM of Medtronic’s global Biologics business and CEO of PatientPoint, a healthcare technology firm focused on point-of-care patient and physician engagement. He began his career with McKinsey & Company where he was a partner and a leader in both the Healthcare Systems & Services Practice as well as the Life Sciences Practice.

Throughout his career, Tom has focused on the intersection of healthcare and technology with particular focus on the emerging role of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to support the quadruple aim and unlock the next chapter of precision health, both clinically and operationally. Tom holds an MBA with distinction from Kellogg Business School, a master’s degree from Stanford University, and a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University.

He also participates on several boards including AdvaMed, World Business Chicago, Chicago’s Museum of Science & Industry, and McKinsey’s Alumni Leaders Council.
