Mary Harney

Mary Harney sits on the European Board, which focuses on Movement Health policy issues, its long-term goals, and overall positioning. Formerly the youngest member of the Senate and the longest serving female member of Dail Eireann (Irish Parliament), as well as the first woman leader of an Irish political party, Mary Harney is now the director of and provides advisory services to a number of private companies in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, technology and financial services sectors.

She is currently Chancellor of the University of Limerick, Chair of Pharmed Ltd. (a Healthcare service provider in Ireland and the UK) and director of Biocon (Asia’s largest biopharmaceutical plc with its HQ in Bangalore, India – www.biocon.com); Euro Insurances (Owned by Leaseplan Corporation and specialising in motor insurance – www.euroinsurances.net); Diona Technology (an Irish headquartered technology company developing mobility solutions for the Social Security and Services IT market – diona.com); European Board of Vital Voices (supporting women leaders worldwide); Brindley Healthcare - a company providing residential nursing and home care in Ireland and the University of Limerick Foundation.

Mary has won European awards as employment minister and for promoting science and innovation via politics and was President of EU Council of Ministers during Irish Presidency. Mary is currently a member of the International Women’s Forum.
